Brandi Carlile’s new album, Give Up The Ghost, won’t be released until next Tuesday (October 6th). But, you can listen to the entire album (11 songs) at Billboard.
“Looking Out” is a great start to the album, “Dying Day” has a slightly less energetic feel than the live, unplugged version, “Pride and Joy” is now a slow, melancholy song that completely lacks the sturdy drums and strong guitars of the live version. “That Year” and “If There Was No You” contribute to the album’s very controlled, country/acoustic feelings. A highlight is “Caroline,” which Carlile recorded with Elton John.
