How many Twitter followers do certain bands and artists have?

After The Show follows popular bands with millions of followers to bands with thousands and even only hundreds of followers. Frequent tweeting, contests, and funny/witty tweets are the key to Twitter popularity.

Many Followers:

Joe Jonas @JoeJonas has almost 560,000 followers

Moderate Amount of Followers:

  1. Twitter definitely offers value for musicians. It’s a key tool to engage your fans and bring them into your world. That said, it’s important to use it properly. Many artists just tweet for the sake of tweeting and building a follower list; or, others just tweet inane things like “ham sandwhich for lunch. yay!”. it’s often just a one-way dialog. get back to tweets! follow your fans!
    Used properly to engage the audience using something interesting, to create a two-way dialog, it can be a powerful tool in the toolbox.

      Definitely! A lot of bands (even less well known ones) never reply to people on Twitter, which I don’t understand. On the other hand, some people are obnoxious and tweet artists multiple times a day, every day, and tweet inappropriate/personal things, so I can understand never replying to those people.
