The Belle Brigade @ Mercury Lounge

Last night, Wednesday October 26th 2011, The Belle Brigade played a sold-out show at NYC’s Mercury Lounge.

The band, a brother-sister duo, played songs from their debut album like “Belt of Orion,” “Lucky Guy,” “Sweet Louise,” and “Losers.”

Music trivia: The members of the Belle Brigade can claim the film composer John Williams (Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, E.T., Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Home Alone, Harry Potter) as their grandfather.

After the last song, people in the audience were expecting an encore, which the band surprisingly didn’t come back out and play.

The Belle Brigade were great, but the band that opened for them, Milo Greene, definitely overshadowed them. Stay tuned for a post on Milo Greene.

In the meantime, watch a clip of “Where Not To Look For Freedom” by The Belle Brigade that I took at the show last night:
