Jenny and Johnny: Cameo on Gossip Girl

Jenny and Johnny made a cameo (see below) on the season 5 premiere of Gossip Girl, playing themselves.

The band’s song “My Pet Snakes” was also featured in the episode.

Jenny and Johnny: Tonight in Nashville

Jenny and Johnny are playing a special 30 minute show tonight at Nashville’s Third Man Records. They’re playing for 300 people, and tickets are $3.

The show will be recorded to tape — you can read the details straight from the horses’ mouths:

“On the twenty-sixth day of this month, we will give a celebratory concert for three hundred of our friends at Third Man Records in Nashville, Tennessee.  We are celebrating the changing of the seasons and change itself.  However, since you have been so kind and gracious in your patronage of our new LP and our American tour, we don’t want to take too much change from your pockets. Tickets will be three dollars.  The show will be in keeping with the ideals and practices of Third Man Records, which is to say that it will be recorded to tape in two fifteen minute sets, to be released at a later date.  We would like to thank Third Man Records in advance and promise to do our very best.

Also, if you go to Rudy’s Barbershop in Silver Lake this Saturday, June 26th from 3-5 pm, you can pick up the “Scissor Runner” 7” for free along with the I’m Having Fun Now bumper sticker.  Rudy’s is located at 4451 West Sunset Blvd.

Jenny And Johnny Album Release Date

A single (cryptic) photo has been uploaded to Jenny And Johnny’s MySpace page (here) with the caption 8/31/10.

We can assume, then, that the album (no music has been previewed online yet) will come out on August 31, 2010, fitting with the previously announced August release date.

Jenny and Johnny is a brand new band featuring Jenny Lewis and Jonathan Rice.

As of today, little is known about the Jenny And Johnny project.

What we do know: the album art is probably the image above, the band is on the Warner Brothers music label, the album (called I’m Having Fun Now) comes out in August, you can sign up for their mailing list at their official website here, and the MySpace lists a few tour dates in September and October.
